Chikkla Chakma
Founder and Director
Chikkla is an ardent supporter of education and
holds the Montessori Method in high regard for its enormous capacity to deliver
quality education.
She had worked in the financial industry before
becoming a teacher, but she soon realized that the work she was doing did not gave her satisfaction. Later, she took a leave of absence from her
work to care for her father, who was ill and suffering from dementia. It was
during this period that she learned about the Montessori approach to education
via a family member. And from that
point on, no turning around.
For a couple of years now, Chikkla has
worked with children’s ranging in age from 12 months to 6 years old.
She enjoys learning from the children’s around
her, which is why she adores becoming a Montessori teacher. She finds great
satisfaction in watching them grow into self-sufficient individuals and in the
way they happily pick up new skills in various contexts without feeling
compelled.
She graduated from the University of Mysore with
a degree in Economics and from Indian Montessori Training Center in Bangalore
with a diploma in Montessori primary education (2.5–6 years).
